Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Young Canadians Challenge

Every year 1000's of Challengers use a World Challenge expedition programme towards different sections of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award, particularly their Gold Award. The sections of the Duke of Edinburgh Award that could be fulfilled during a Challenger’s expedition programme are as follows:

Expeditions Section

Canada Expeditions can be designed with the requirements of the Award as the key focus. All of our trekking, river and dog sledding expeditions can fulfil the expedition section of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

Overseas Training Expedition Subject to Local Operating Division approval this may be used as training in the Award Expeditions Section. In many circumstances it will qualify as an Award practice journey. 

Overseas Expedition - Acclimatisation Trek
This may also be used as a practice journey if it meets the criteria laid down by the Local Operating Division. This will require prior approval.

Overseas Expedition - Assessed Venture
The main trek will usually qualify as an Other Adventurous Project. Full information can be obtained by visiting the Canadian Award Website.

Skills
Any of the following may be used as a skill:
- Money Management
- Language
- First Aid
- Photography
- And many more…

Physical recreation
Expedition fitness training programme.

Participation in an expedition does not automatically guarantee anything towards the D of E Award. It is up to the individual Challenger to discuss their intentions with their Award Operating Division to gain approval. However, this is great chance to have the experience of a lifetime whilst working towards a widely acknowledged and esteemed Award!
